Dr. Aleem Kanji is a board certified endocrinologist and internist. He was raised in Houston and the suburb of Sugar Land. After graduating high school, Dr. Kanji attended Houston Baptist University where he completed a double major in Biology and Business. He ventured to west Texas where he earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He returned to his hometown of Houston where he completed 3 years of internal medicine residency at the highly ranked Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Kanji pursued his passion for endocrinology by completing a 2-year fellowship in adult endocrinology at Baylor College of Medicine, including training at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children’s Hospital.
As Dr. Kanji completed fellowship training, he saw 2 choices:
1) Practice endocrinology through insurance: click the boxes on the screen, bill insurance, and see the next patient – 20 + patients per day
2) Create a practice for his patients: give them the time and care needed to improve their health.
The choice was simple but not easy. First, eliminate interference from insurance. Second, maximize the time and experience for each person. Third, keep it affordable. The result is Ethos Endocrinology.
